an MAI Hero"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>Every ministry has its unsung heroes, and Lea Meyer was certainly one for MAI.\u00a0\u00a0Soon after our founding, Lea quit a high-paying job to come and work at MAI without any salary for more than six months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLea grasped the vision and potential of MAI ministry from the moment we were launched,\u201d said founding CEO Bob Reekie.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cHer professional and business skills were invaluable to MAI and to me personally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lea performed meticulous bookkeeping, edited the newsletter and did whatever was necessary to help the fledgling MAI ministry grow and thrive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will never forget this incredible person who truly was an \u2018angel\u2019 in those early years,\u201d Bob added.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWhat a lovely Christian woman whose life radiated her faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lea passed away on July 17 at age 93 in Elgin, Illinois, entering the presence of the Lord she loved and served.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was one of God\u2019s special people,\u201d remembered MAI-Europe Trustee Nicholas Gray of Scotland. \u201cShe was an invaluable help at the early LittWorld conferences where most of us saw her in action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople like her inspire and strengthen others,\u201d said author and publisher Lawrence Darmani of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Lea\u2019s sacrificial service in those early years helped build an infrastructure that would enable MAI to send trainers to Christian publishers and writers around the world.\u00a0\u00a0Yes, Lea was one of MAI\u2019s heroes, and she will not be forgotten.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every ministry has its unsung heroes, and Lea Meyer was
