You may choose to create a script if you like.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Thirty writers from\u00a017 nations<\/strong> submitted entries in this English contest.<\/p>\n

\u201cA fine piece of writing, exciting and captivating,<\/span>\u201d<\/strong> wrote contest judge Lawrence Darmani, an award-winning novelist and\u00a0founding editor of\u00a0Step<\/em>\u00a0magazine and CEO of Step Publishers<\/a> in Accra, Ghana. \u201cThe plot captures several high points of Moses\u2019 colorful life.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinner Chat with Moses<\/strong>

The saintly look identified Israel\u2019s redeemer\u2013the stammering-wilderness-leader and lawgiver\u2013during a dinner.<\/p>\n

\u201cGlad meeting you Moses!\u201d I remarked. \u201cI deeply admire your role in delivering Israel from slavery to worship the Lord God! Nevertheless, how did you get information concerning the creation?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever I met with the Lord face to face, I was caught-up by revelations. This, together with traditional history, was my data-base for writing the book of Genesis,\u201d Moses explained. \u201cI wasn\u2019t perfect you know. Remember I killed an Egyptian, thinking it was the way to deliver Israel. It caused me to flee Egypt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTrue, but you met Zipporah in the process!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh yes, and my supportive father-in-law, Jethro.\u201d He added.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou let fall tablets, the Ten Commandments and later struck twice the rock in Kadesh\u2013costing you Canaan. Was this out of temper or frustration?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI presume both,\u201d he noted. \u201cDespite the cloud and pillar of fire, the wilderness journey was a nightmare!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChips and chicken here, Moses! It\u2019s our manna.\u201d I offered.<\/p>\n

\u201cHeavenly manna again?\u201d \u00a0He asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, sir!\u201d I replied.<\/p>\n

Laughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen your rod turned into a serpent, and the flies, frogs, locusts and lice invaded Egypt \u2013 the river turning into blood \u2013 didn\u2019t they call you a witch?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lord\u2019s ways are un-natural, sometimes warranting His ministers such naughty titles. Ignore and aggressively execute your heavenly commission, regardless of how you got it. Whether through a dream, a vision or even the burning-bush, like in my case.\u201d He said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo the Lord regarded you a meek and faithful man!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes. I chose to forfeit all the luxury from Egypt\u2013having been adopted into the royal family\u2013to join slavery. I could\u2019ve become the next Pharaoh!\u201d He reflected.<\/p>\n

\u201cSay something concerning crossing the red sea, Moses?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a great victory! By then Israel hadn\u2019t acquired any fighting skills. Then came the brazen-snake, which a mere glance of, neutralised venom from dangerous desert snake-bites!\u201d He stressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoses, wasn\u2019t killing of the firstborns, Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizites, Hivites and Jebusites an act of racism and terrorism?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNot at all. The Lord created all races. Yet many worship Satan\u2013a merely created angel\u2013making enmity against their Creator. \u00a0It was an enforcement of the rule of law on earth. Even the golden jewels we borrowed were a reward for our labor, though we later made an idol out of it!\u201d He explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinal word, Moses?\u201d<\/p>\n
