How did the Rwanda Christian Writers Network start? What\u2019s next for Cameroon\u2019s Christian writers? And what could our Online Writers Group have been talking about at midnight? Read and pray through our latest news. <\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"A New Christian Writers Network Forms in Rwanda <\/strong><\/h3>\n

MAI-Africa held its first in-person workshop for the year in Rwanda on March 27-29, hosted by Dominique Ntirushwa and Scripture Union Rwanda. Twenty-seven participants learned how to write and get published with Jane Gichohi, Ezechias Ntirenganya and Ramon Rocha.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis training made writing very doable\u2014simple steps in developing ideas into articles and books,\u201d says participant Eustace Makokha. \u201cThis will inspire aspiring writers and definitely add value to those already writing and publishing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe training strengthened my writing skills and helped me understand how to communicate effectively with purpose as a Christian writer,\u201d adds Marie Yvette Cyizere. \u201cI highly recommend this training as it is practical and helps writers grow both spiritually and professionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

By the end of the workshop, the group had compiled their work into a booklet, Our Hope in Jesus Christ: A Collection of Articles by Rwandan Christian Writers<\/em>. They also formed the Rwanda Christian Writers Network, with Japhet Byiringiro serving as its first Chair. \"\"<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to express our gratitude to the MAI for conducting an incredible workshop,\u201d says local host Dominique Ntirushwa. \u201cWe are all excited to see how the Lord will utilize these new skills for His glory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pray for the newly formed Rwanda Christian Writers Network as they meet to spur each other on to write Great Commission content to evangelize, equip and encourage re<\/em>aders.<\/em><\/p>\n

Kickstarting Publishing Journeys at Cameroon Christian Writers Workshop<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Over the Easter weekend on April 3-4, Christian writers in Cameroon gathered for a writing workshop with publishing manager Vincent de Paul Lele and author Rahael Ngoh Manang, thanks to a partnership between MAI-Africa, ACTS Cameroon and \u00c9ditions Cle.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cAll the lessons were an eye opener,\u201d says one participant. \u201cThis workshop will give you the necessary tools needed to kickstart your journey\u2026Knowledge, guidance and motivation on how to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Local host Dr. Helga Jam is keen to see more workshops throughout Cameroon to nurture local talent, including training of trainers to equip generations of future Christian writers.<\/p>\n

Pray for each attendee at the Cameroon Writers Workshop. May their writing be impactful in God-honoring ways. Pray for more writers and trainers to be mobilized throughout Cameroon.<\/em><\/p>\n

Inclusivity and Diversity in Christian Publishing at Online Writers Group<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our Online Writers Group recently met to discuss inclusivity and diversity. Several new members came along\u2014one even joined from Singapore at midnight, determined not to miss the opportunity!\u2014an inspiring reminder of how much this conversation matters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Bible teaches that the church of God is made up of people from every tribe, nation and language. It includes the rich and the poor, the young and the old, and those with disabilities,\u201d group facilitator and author Janet Wilson says.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this in mind, we turned our attention to an important question: What does inclusivity look like in Christian literature? How can our writing reflect this vision of inclusivity? How can we ensure that no one is overlooked?\u201d<\/p>\n

Pray for Christian writers and publishers as they make decisions about what to write and publish. May each one see those who are overlooked and step into the gap.<\/em><\/p>\n
