Our Poetry Group<\/a> is putting together an anthology, Still: Poems of Peace in Times of Turmoil, <\/em>due to be released in 2026.<\/p>

Edited by Aaron Lee, Joan Campbell, Akolo Anthony James and Rev Dr Sunday Bobai Agang, Still<\/em> will feature poems by Christians from 34 countries.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cAfter much prayer and brainstorming, we felt compelled to address the pressing global issues of our time\u2014the wars and rumors of wars\u2014by lending our creative voices to speak into these crises,\u201d group coordinator Akolo Anthony James says.<\/p>

As a pilgrim and story-teller,\u00a0Joan Campbell\u00a0<\/strong>seeks to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and shares her journey through blogging, devotional and fiction writing. She is\u00a0the author of seven books, all containing the message of God\u2019s grace and salvation. She particularly loves crafting poetic prayers in the tradition of the Psalms. Joan is an MAI-Africa trustee and,\u00a0besides coordinating writer training across the continent, has taught at writing events in South Africa, Ghana, Singapore, Botswana and Mexico. She co-founded and facilitates the MAI Poetry group with Akolo James. Akolo Anthony James<\/strong> is a poet, playwright, and songwriter. As a narrative strategist in development, he has written and produced over 100 episodes of radio drama focused on peacebuilding and conflict transformation. He is the author of the poetry collection Hope Not Deferred, and co-founder of the MAI Poetry Group alongside Joan Campbell. His stage work, including three plays and a musical, has premiered at the Jos International Festival of Theatre, with his play And Vice Versa debuting at the Abuja International Theatre Festival. Beyond the stage, Anthony has researched and co-directed documentaries, including 65 Years of Celebrating: Ford Foundation and the upcoming Takum: Legacy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

Aaron Lee<\/strong> is a Gen X cultural worker based in Singapore. His practice includes pastoring, lawyering and poetry writing. An award-winning author of three poetry collections\u2014including Coastlands<\/em> (2014)\u2014he has also edited landmark cross-cultural anthologies, such as No Other City<\/em> (2000), Love Gathers All<\/em> (2002) and Lines Spark Code<\/em> (2017). Lee\u2019s work is studied in schools and universities, and he is regularly invited to literary festivals around the world. He serves as Executive Director of Optima Center for Exploration and Learning, Chairman of the ECWA Board of Trustees, and Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University. A leading voice in African public theology, peacebuilding, ethics, and public policy, he has authored and edited influential books on violence, corruption, human dignity, and social renewal. Her work\u2014which aims to touch hearts and spark thought\u2014reflects faith, passion, and a love for creativity. She has shared her poetry in competitions and events, and her writing continues to open doors for connection and impact.<\/p>

Emmanuel Foster Asamoah<\/strong> is a Ghanaian poet, writer, theologian, and pastor with the Church of Pentecost. He serves as a lecturer at Pentecost University, Ghana, where he also coordinates the Center for the Study of Unreached People Groups, Africa. Emmanuel\u2019s work explores themes of divine hope, grief, resilience, and the mission of the Church in a broken world.<\/p>

Ivei Bright<\/strong> is a Nigerian stage poet, with a heart burning to express life and truth through his artistry. When he is not reading, writing poetry, people-gazing, pondering God, loving passionately, and watching movies, he volunteers with ECWA Seminary Church Youth Ministry, ECWA Gospel Kabong Youth Fellowship and the Tentmakers Institute.<\/p>

Gillian Adsett Cameron<\/strong> is from New Zealand, Wellington, with its \u2018bracing\u2019 winds funnelling up from Antarctica. She jokes that she writes poetry and essays to keep herself warm. She and her husband Alan are part of the vibrant community at St Michael\u2019s Anglican Church in Kelburn\u2014who encourage and keep her inspired to write more.<\/p>

Priscila Chac\u00f3n<\/strong> is a writer, reader and astrophysicist from Mexico. Her passion is to collect memories and imagine possibilities while looking for seeds of novels. Her wish is that her words bring hope amidst the storms of life, and that they are harmonious offerings to God, The Great Writer. Priscila pens young adult fiction, as well as poems and reflections on life.<\/p>

Dianne Chan<\/strong> is a Chinese-Filipino writer and visual artist from the Philippines, with a background in business and marketing. She writes essays, creative nonfiction, and poetry. She is a member of SEA Lit Circle, a community of writers and readers in Southeast Asia. Dianne\u2019s writings explore the dance of joy and pain in being human.<\/p>

Juan Carlos Cobano<\/strong> is a Spanish missionary, poet and philologist. He serves as secretary general of TIBER\u00cdADES, the Ibero-American Network of Christian Poets and Literary Critics, and of the Ibero-American Poets’ Meetings in Salamanca. He edits the literary magazine Tiber\u00edades<\/em>. Juan\u2019s texts have been published in various magazines in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.<\/p>

Favour Dibankap<\/strong> enjoys outdoor adventure, travel and learning anything new. Favour says, \u201cI just want God to continue His work in and through me.\u201d She has always loved writing and hopes that her writings will touch the hearts of people, bring them back to God, and make them feel that\u2014whatever they\u2019re going through\u2014they\u2019re not alone.\u00a0<\/p>

Keren Dibbens-Wyatt<\/strong> is a writer and artist with a passion for prayer, poetry, story and color. She writes to encourage and entertain readers of all ages. Keren is the author of All That Is Made<\/em> and Recital of Love<\/em>. Her work also features regularly in literary journals and anthologies.<\/p>

Dr. Samuel Dorgbetor<\/strong> is a Ghanaian pastor, Christian counsellor, and writer. As a writer, his poetry and teachings draw deeply from African realities\u2014its joys, struggles, resilience, and communal hope. Through preaching, writing, counselling, and his social media ministry, he seeks to inspire many to trust God wholeheartedly and live with courage and compassion.<\/p>

Francis <\/strong>is a student at Ruth Education Center, <\/em>a school for refugees in Malaysia.<\/p>

Tom Friedrichs<\/strong> is a husband, father of three, musician, artist, writer and life\/leadership coach who after a stint as a graphic designer and art director got sucked into the back door of Christian ministry. He first became the executive director of Connecticut Youth for Christ before moving into pastoral ministry for 25 years. Tom now coaches Christian leaders.<\/span><\/p>

Kathy Grobler<\/strong> is a devoted writer from South Africa with a heart for encouraging others through faith and prayer. She is the founder of Under His Wings<\/em>, a ministry where she posts daily prayers and leads an online Bible study group focused on spiritual\u00a0growth.\u00a0Writing remains both her cherished hobby and a vessel for sharing God’s love.<\/p>

Emie Joane Guintu<\/strong> is a seasoned educator with 22 years of teaching experience. She currently serves as the Primary Years Programme Coordinator at MGC New Life Christian Academy. Beyond teaching, Emie authors and edits textbooks and children’s stories. Emie began writing poems at 13, finding in poetry a way to weave faith, reflection, and experience into words.<\/p>

Jane Harel<\/strong> is a counselling psychologist. A passionate Christian writer, poet, and avid reader, she is the author of three titles: Garment of Praise<\/em>, Beautiful Thoughts<\/em>, and Morning Dew Notebook<\/em>. Jane is the founder of Christian Poets Network, founding vice chairperson and former chief editor of Kenya Faith Writers Network.<\/p>

Kamrul Hasan<\/strong> is a Christian writer, poet, trainer, and community development practitioner from Bangladesh. He has been involved in church ministry, leadership development, trauma training, gender equity, women\u2019s empowerment, and human rights. Kamrul longs for his words to encourage readers to discover hope, peace, and God\u2019s love in their lives.<\/p>

Christal Eldredene Hermans<\/strong> is a South African author and poet. She shares her story of being diagnosed with an incurable lung disease in her second book A Glimpse of Heaven: My Journey with God and Sarcoidosis<\/em>. Christal has received several awards, including one for her poem Tikkie Sonskyn<\/em> and for her short story Aster<\/em>, and is currently writing a children’s book.<\/p>

Jenni Ho-Huan<\/strong> is a city-pastor working at reimagining the local church experience. Believing that words create worlds of possibilities, writing is her way of making sense of life and offering her discoveries. She is author of six books and a happy booklet called Mewsings: Life Lessons from a Cat<\/em>. Jenni lives in sunny Singapore and has been to four continents on her travels.\u00a0<\/p>

Alice Huang<\/strong>\u00a0has been writing for Christ since 2019. She is the author of a Christian newspaper column novel series published from July 2021 to December 2023, and continues to use her writing as a lifelong expression of faith and service.<\/p>

Uzoma Joy Iheoma<\/strong> lives in Nigeria.<\/p>

Oluwaseyi Elizabeth Jimoh<\/strong> is a Christian writer and reporter. She graduated top of her glass from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. Her passion for faith-based storytelling deepened when she joined Journalists for Christ. Oluwaseyi uses her pen to testify of God\u2019s faithfulness and inspire others to find intimacy with Christ. She blogs at christianlifewithseyi.blogspot.com<\/em>.<\/p>

Kelvin Kahiu<\/strong> been writing poems since he was in high school in 2013. When he lost his job in 2025 and fell into depression, he found peace reading the Bible and writing poetry. He says, \u201cI wrote these poems at my lowest and they really ministered to me in a personal level.\u201d Kelvin lives in Kenya.<\/p>

Ioanna Kakari<\/strong> has worked as a psychologist in an Athens hospital for the last 25 years. At the age of 16, her heart was changed when she experienced the love of Christ. From her youth, Ioanna has spoken to God through written prayers, and at times she offers poems to friends as gifts. Writing also helps Ioanna process feelings that arise from everyday life and work.<\/p>

Josiah Jack Kalian<\/strong> is an American-Armenian poet and former combat medic whose work draws on his deployments to explore trauma, resilience, and the healing power of nature. He firmly believes poetry is the healing balm within us all and encourages veterans and others to write poetry as a means of withstanding the negative effects of post-traumatic stress.<\/p>

Sally Wamaitha Kamau<\/strong> is a Kenyan-born educator, writer, and emerging poet, living<\/p>

and teaching in Mozambique. She is passionate about helping students understand the world, cultures, and the value of responsible travel. Her poetry collection Sorrow, Success & Surrender<\/em> captures her journey through pain, triumph, and spiritual surrender.<\/p>

Njeri Kang\u2019ethe<\/strong> is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya (specialising in family law). She also lectures in the law department of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Njeri has served on the Law Reform and Gender Committees for the Law Society of Kenya. A life-long learner, she is currently a PhD Candidate (Gender and Governance) at Tangaza University.<\/p>

Olivia Kibui<\/strong> is a writer, mainly of fiction, who has recently started writing poetry.\u00a0She is also a professional photographer who enjoys portraiture and landscape photography. She enjoys long walks and films.\u00a0Olivia currently lives in Thies, Senegal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Clare Kinsella<\/strong> has seen her poetry published in Madonna<\/em> and Parousia<\/em> magazines. She is currently writing a political short story called Chop Harder<\/em>, and turning her late mother\u2019s unpublished novel about her journey from Ireland to Australia into a movie script. Clare discovered a love of poetry in her teens and is still writing it at the age of forty.<\/p>

Betty Kituyi<\/strong> has authored two anthologies, Falling<\/em> and Between My Thoughts<\/em>. She is a founding member of Quiet Garden Publishing, a publishing house dedicated to nurturing locally crafted Christian literature and amplifying reflective, faith-centred African voices. Betty lives and works in Mbale, where she writes, teaches and nurtures community.<\/p>

Mark Klassen<\/strong> works as a writer and editor for his company, Namesake Writing<\/a>, through which he serves clients in marketing, communications and book publishing. While his love for poetry is grounded in his devotional reading of the Scriptures, he has also been inspired by poets such as Gerard Manley Hopkins, Mary Oliver, and Bob Dylan.\u00a0<\/p>

Michael Gavin Koopman<\/strong> is a South African Christian educator, author, and school leadership mentor. His four-decade career spans teaching, departmental leadership, principalship, and the training of new teachers. Much of his writing draws from lived school realities, pastoral care, and the belief that every classroom is a place of formation.<\/p>

George Korah<\/strong> is an entrepreneur, graphic designer, and the director of\u00a0Primalogue Publishing & Media.\u00a0During his twenty years in publishing, he has been instrumental in publishing a number of originally-developed books for India. His poem Memories <\/em>reflects his profound sorrow and search for solace following the loss of his wife, Elsa, to whom he was married for 29 years.<\/p>

May Lee<\/strong> is an internationally published author from the Philippines. Her work was published in Room to Read’s<\/em> works for children of migrant workers. May is a marketing strategist, a teacher of movement and meditation, and the proud mother of Sam.<\/p>

Lorena MacDonald<\/strong> began reading the Bible in her late teens and gave her life to the Lord a decade later. After moving to the UK in 2004, she developed a strong interest in Christian books and journaling, which proved effective in bracing the freezing winter and coping with homesickness. Years later, poetry became a constant part of her life.<\/p>

Albena Makarova<\/strong> was born in 1974 in Bulgaria. A linguist by education, she has served as a university lecturer in English and Spanish for over 20 years. She has also been a determined voice against academic corruption. For Albena, poetry is a way to breathe, to heal, and find meaning after such uneven battles.<\/p>

Jamudim<\/strong> Malate<\/strong> became a Christian at the age of 14. He completed a degree in theology and now leads a Baptist church. Jamudim loves to read and dreams of writing a book. His poem I Saw You Passing By<\/em> was originally written in Portuguese.<\/p>

Rahael<\/strong> Ngoh Manang<\/strong> is a Cameroonian poet, playwright and author. She has performed her poems at national and international events. She is also a certified professional editor with over a decade of editorial experience. Rahael is a Christian writer and trainer, and believes that community change is possible through the power of the written word.<\/p>

Angela Marteki Markwei-Okai<\/strong> is an administrative secretary at Step Publishers. She has written and published several articles, stories and drama skits, including several plays which have impacted the lives of many children. Her short stories have been published in The Mirror<\/em>, a weekly newspaper in Ghana. Adwinsa Publications have published two of her books.<\/p>

Peculiar Medinus<\/strong> began her writing career as a journalist before writing books on topics such as Christian living, motivation and health. She has also written memoirs, short stories and devotionals. She is an active member of the Association of Christian Writers. Peculiar supports aspiring authors through ghost-writing and publishing services at peculiarpages.co.uk.<\/em><\/p>

Reyna Orozco Meraz<\/strong> writes for various Christian ministries, and also translates, edits and reviews books and educational resources. A teacher at heart, Reyna enjoys learning and sharing through conferences, workshops, blogs, podcasts, social media (@ReynaOrozcoMeraz) and in person over a warm cup of tea or a frozen smoothie.<\/p>

Catherine Michell<\/strong> grew up in South Africa but has lived in the UK for many years. She is a psychotherapist and helps to run a charity called the Garden Route Children\u2019s Trust, which funds nutritional breakfasts for South African children. Catherine has been a poet since childhood.<\/p>

Grace now serves in Cambodia\u2014rooted in love, guided by grace and sustained by hope.<\/p>

Elitegemeo Yoshua Mpumpa<\/strong> is a pastor, writer, editor, and translator based in Tanzania. Elitegemeo has served for over two decades in parish ministry and theological education, often among communities facing hardship, fear, and the threat\u2014or reality\u2014of social unrest. He also serves as assistant publishing manager at Soma Biblia, and editor of Riziki Magazine<\/em>.<\/p>

Jonah Nyoni<\/strong> is a Zimbabwean author, leadership trainer, communication strategist, and newspaper columnist whose work bridges thought leadership, corporate training and public speaking. With a career spanning over a decade, Jonah has published more than 500 articles as well as two books, A Call to Leadership Agility <\/em>and Leadership Dots<\/em>.<\/p>

Marion Odicio<\/strong> came to know Jesus on a trip as an assistant tour guide to Peru\u2014when she heard about God\u2019s love from the man who would later become her husband and ministry partner. Today, Marion and Carlos support national missionaries serving in Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru as facilitators, recruiters and trainers.<\/p>

Matthew Ogunwale<\/strong> is a young Nigerian literary voice. His work often centers on themes of peace, divine purpose, love, identity and hope. Beyond poetry, Matthew is also a committed university campus journalist and storyteller, using literature to spotlight societal realities and inspire creative thought among young people.<\/p>

Loll\u00e9tte Oliva-Alipe<\/strong> is the author of three published books. Prior to retirement, she had a four-decade profession as a trainer in effective communication and career development. She was also a Sunday school teacher. In 2018, Miriam College granted Loll\u00e9tte an award for her family\u2019s ministry program, which provided scholarships and free tutorials for public school students.<\/p>

Felichi Pangilinan-Buizon<\/strong> is a freelance writer and regular contributor to the Christian Broadcasting Network Asia’s first bilingual devotional and online app, Tanglaw<\/em>. Felichi co-authored Devotions for Teacher-Moms: Moments of Rest and Refreshing<\/em> and The Little Ones Journal,<\/em> and hopes to write her own devotional and children\u2019s book one day.<\/p>

Jean Pina<\/strong> is a Christian from Senegal. With a background in mental health, she works with a Christian organization involved in evangelism. The program she facilitates is called Arts and Trauma Healing<\/em>, and aims to help people overcome trauma by means of the arts. Jean is married and has one child, and says she has always liked writing poetry and stories.<\/p>

Sharon Ray<\/strong> is a South African children\u2019s author. She was an educator for many years, teaching high school maths, science and biology and lecturing post-matric. She also ran her own nursery school for 18 years. Sharon\u2019s work in wildlife conservation as an honorary ranger inspired her to pass on a love of the African bushveld to children, including through her book illustrations.<\/p>

Carla Paola Reyes<\/strong> is a bilingual editor from Mexico and head of publishing for two publishing houses, Tenet Insights and Editorial Salto al Reverso, which publish novels, poems, short stories, children\u2019s books, magazines, anthologies and non-fiction in bilingual editions. Carla has been writing poetry and short fiction since she was ten years old.<\/p>

Abraham Shuaibu<\/strong> is a Christian writer, missionary, and researcher from Northern Nigeria. His investigative writing exposed state repression and street violence, appearing in international outlets and earning recognition from the Latin American Centre for Journalism. Yoe has published a dozen books, with translations in English and Italian.<\/p>

Antonius Tri Sulistiyanto<\/strong> began his publishing career in 1999 at Tira Pustaka before joining the Kompas Gramedia Group. In 2007, he moved to Christian publisher BPK Gunung Mulia, where he continues to serve. He is active in social and community initiatives and enjoys reading, traveling and outdoor activities.<\/p>

A former Sunday School teacher, Sylvia Tanuadji<\/strong> is the author of 15 children\u2019s books, 12 picture books, a novel and short story for teens, and an anthology of great people of the world\u2014all written in Bahasa Indonesian. She has also translated 16 children’s books from English into the same language. Sylvia lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. Landslide<\/em> is her debut poem. <\/em><\/p>

Agnes Tepa<\/strong> serves with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) and is currently based in Japan. She started her writing journey co-authoring a book of poems, Echoes of Spring<\/em>. She is also the author of Adventures of Lhusaku and other stories<\/em> and Out of Wonder<\/em>, a book of poems and art drawing inspiration from the Bible.<\/p>

Esther Thang<\/strong> is a 13-year-old refugee from Myanmar currently living in Malaysia, where churches have opened community centers offering education and other forms of help and empowerment.<\/p>

Hannah Winslow<\/strong> is a teenager studying in an international school in East Asia, who loves reading and writing.
