The tiny shadow of a snowflake,<\/p>\n

The quiet echo of a tear,<\/p>\n

The dim light of a distant candle<\/p>\n

In a room filled with fear.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A mother\u2019s cries are deep cries, dark cries, long cries,<\/p>\n

For the son who is not coming home.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s thinking: Is he drinking? Is he slinking,<\/p>\n

Into a grave now filled with snow?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her love means nothing to him<\/p>\n

And only makes her ache beat deeper.<\/p>\n

If she could, she would cling to him,<\/p>\n

She would sing to him, she would bring to him<\/p>\n

The love he used to…<\/p>\n

No, now he\u2019s never coming home.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fear fills a room<\/p>\n

Round a dim distant candle<\/p>\n

Shining on a fallen tear<\/p>\n

As a snowflake,<\/p>\n

Drops to the ground.<\/p>\n
