The Book that Began at LittWorld

After connecting through LittWorld 2024, four people from four countries worked together to bring a book to life—a collection of illustrated fictional stories designed to delight kids in Jesus.

In 1 Corinthians 3:6, Paul wrote about how he plants, Apollos waters, but God makes things grow.

At MAI, we train Christian writers and publishers (a bit like planting) and journey with them online and in-person (like watering), but actual spiritual impact (the growth) is the Lord’s work.

When lives are changed, that’s God’s doing, not ours.

Once in a while, we get to see the bit where God makes things grow!

Back in November 2024, two children’s ministry workers decided to come along to LittWorld in Mexico—Sophia Wong and Shantal de Odicio of BCM International.

They discovered new possibilities of reaching kids through the written word, as MAI-Europe Board Chair Janet Wilson challenged LittWorld attendees to write more books for children.

“Her words deeply inspired me, and the idea for this book was born,” Sophia says.

Soon, Sophia and Shantal connected with José Carlos Gutiérrez M., president of Comix35 Next Gen and MAI-Amérique latine Board chair, who introduced them to Momir Blazek from Croatia—another LittWorld alumnus.

For over 18 months, four people from four countries worked together to bring the book to life.

Let the Children Come: BCM Bible Clubs Around the World is now available—a collection of fictional stories designed to ignite in families a heart for mission and delight kids in Jesus.

“Every story is carefully written to teach important biblical truths about God’s love, the wisdom of His Word, the power of prayer, and what it means to grow as a follower of Christ,” says Shantal. “We are absolutely thrilled and grateful to publish this book and share God’s loving story with children around the world!”
