Kanisa la Biblia Publishers

Kanisa la Biblia Publishers is the publishing house and literature department of Kanisa la Biblia Tanzania (Evangelical Brethren Church in Tanzania). KLB Publishers is a publishing house with nearly 70 titles in print and also a bookshop with over 900 books, Bibles, Songbooks, CDs and picture material from KLB and other publishers. The Swahili name (Church of the Bible) is also a program for the mission statement of the publishing house: Providing literature for the lay people within the Swahili speaking world, so that they are able to read, understand and teach what they have learned from the Bible and apply it to their lives. Vision: “We want to prepare and to make literature available, which gives the readers insight and deeper understanding of the Bible.” Mission: “Kanisa la Biblia Publishers aims to grow understanding of the Bible in East and Central Africa through affordable Christian Literature distribution which helps to understand the Scriptures (Bible) for personal benefit in order to (a) grow spiritually, (b) teach others and (c) to empower leaders for church growth.” A Short History of the publishing house “Kanisa la Biblia Publishers” 1980 The first books “Panorama ya Biblia“ and “Imani yetu Ndiyo Ushindi“ have been published in Tunduru in Ruvuma Region, Southern Tanzania and printed with Nusch-Druck Gummersbach in Germany. 1983 The Songbook “Nyimbo za Wakristo” in red plastic cover was published for Kanisa la Biblia. 1986-1990 The next big project by Helmut Gräf was the translation of “Agano Jipya Lasema” (The New Testament Speaks,) a series of 5 books by Donald Fleming, which later increased together with the 10 volume series “Agano la Kale Lasema” (The Old Testmant Speaks) to a full commentary in 15 volumes. 1988 The Series Mafundisho ya Msingi Wa Imani was published with 5 booklets: (1) Biblia ya Mkristo, (2) Ulimwengu wa Mkristo, (3) Maisha ya Mkristo, (4) Imani ya Mkristo, (5) Mungu wa Mkristo (Basic Christian Teaching by Don Fleming). All 5 booklets are available as e-download from our website. 1991 Helmut Gräf started building the Literature Distribution Centre in Dodoma, finished 1993 and therefore Kanisa la Biblia Publishers could move its distribution centre to Dodoma, the capital city of Tanzania. Books with good content are made available in our showroom for local customers. We have a warehouse with Bibles, Evangelistic booklets (Lifewords) and flyers, Children’s books and biblical books for the ministry. 1992-1995 Translation of the “Kamusi ya Biblia” (Bridge Bible Dictionary by Donald Fleming). 2000 W. MacDonald’s “Mtumishi mwaminifu wa Yesu” (True Discipleship). 2000 This first one volume Swahili Bible Commentary “Biblia Inasema” (The Bridge Bible Commentary) published in Dodoma. 2003 Another big step was the translation of Erich Sauers a book on Salvation History in one book called “Ufunuo wa Mungu na Itikio la Imani” (from English “The Dawn of World Redemption” and “The Triumph of the Crucified”). 2003 Revision of “Uongozi wa Kiroho” (Spiritual leadership), by J. Oswald Sanders, from previous versions from Tanzania Evangelical Literature Ministry. 2008 An important publication is “Wito wa Viongozi wa Kikristo,” which is a book on leadership principles by John Stott “Calling Christian Leaders“ as pointed out in 1 Corinthians 1 – 4. 2010 The Childrens Colouring book “Biblia ya Kupaka Rangi” (Kid’s Colouring Bible Book by Margitta Paul) was published in Hardcover and Softcover. 2014 Publishing the apologetics book “Lulu za Biblia” (Key Bible Concepts) for skeptics and people who want to know better what the Christian faith is all about. It also available as ebook download in .pdf. 2017 A series of 16 books “Masomo Bunifu ya Biblia” (Creative Bible Lessons), which is a Teaching curriculum over 8 years in 3 age groups 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years. It emphasis thorough Bible teaching be repeating important Bible truths in 3 different ages groups. This program goes along with visual aids and a training program for teachers. 2019-2023 A 4 volumes “Ufafanuzi Hai wa Biblia kwa Maisha ya Kiroho” Commentary for the New Testament. This is the translation of the huge one volume “Believers’ Bible Commentary” by William MacDonald. 2022 relaunch of the website www.klb-publishers.or.tz as well as Instagram account @klb_publishers 2023 A biography of a famous evangelist from Malawi “Kukimbia Nje ya Kivuli Cheusi,” (Out of the Black Shadows by Anne Coomes and Stephen Lungu). 2023 Relaunch of the new Songbook with guitar chords in 3 different binding styles (spiral, hardcover, softcover) “Nyimbo za Wakristo”. 2025 The first volume of 4 of the Old Testament Commentary is published “Ufafanuzi Hai wa Biblia kwa Maisha ya Kiroho - Isaya-Malaki.” 2025 Audiostories of the colouring book “Biblia ya Kupaka Rangi” OT and NT available for free download.
