My name is Ebise Anisa, and I was born and raised in Nekemte, Ethiopia. I completed my high school education in my hometown, which laid the foundation for my academic pursuits. Driven by a passion to chase my dreams, I enrolled in university, though the journey was not as straightforward as I had hoped. In Ethiopia, students do not have the freedom to choose their departments; instead, the Ministry of Education assigns them. This pivotal moment in my life led me to a department I initially did not desire, but it ultimately inspired me to pursue my true calling. I have always dreamed of being a Christian storyteller, whether through writing or visual storytelling. This passion guided my studies in film and media studies and theology, allowing me to blend my creative aspirations with my faith. Currently, I serve as the Head of the Department of Film and Media Studies, where I strive to empower and mentor the next generation of storytellers. As a young female African storyteller, I am excited about the opportunity to share narratives that reflect our diverse cultures and experiences. I believe in the transformative power of storytelling, and I am committed to using my voice to inspire others and promote understanding through my work. I am eager to continue my journey, creating impactful stories that resonate with audiences and contribute to the rich tapestry of African narratives.
