Inspiration or Perspiration? Put your writing call to work

Have you sensed the Lord’s call to write? Although you need inspiration to develop your writing, nothing can replace diligence and hard work. Authors Lawrence Darmani and Pearl Griffith offer encouragement-based coaching for writers who have responded to a call to write. Participants will learn how Christian writing is a critical component of the Lord’s global work, and that the Lord calls writers to fulfill their writing ministry. Those who accept this call must make time to sharpen skills in order to develop quality content that can transform lives.

Novelist and publisher Lawrence Darmani is founding editor of Step magazine and CEO of Step Publishers in Accra, Ghana.Step Publishers supplies books to the Ministry of Education, senior high schools, non-formal education, Ghana Book Trust and other institutions. Lawrence’s first novel, Grief Child, won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize in 1992 as best first book from Africa. He also writes devotional articles for Our Daily Bread. He holds a B.A. in Communications from Daystar University in Kenya and lives in Accra with his wife, Comfort. He serves on the MAI-Africa Board of Trustees.

Trinidadian-born Pearl D. Griffith is the founder of a company that has helped scores of aspiring writers turn their ideas into books. A self-published author, and an editor by profession, Pearl once suffered the tragic loss by termites of 27 years’ worth of unpublished writing. By the mercy of God, however, that loss left her with a passion to help aspiring writers avoid the mistakes she had made. She became a writer trainer and a mentor to help them learn how to use their gift and effectively put their call to write to work for God’s glory. Pearl’s personal theme is: “My pen is my pulpit, and this is My Write!”
