Prayer
For many years, my wife, Elsa, and I have met with the same group of friends to pray for the work of MAI. What a blessing and encouragement these praying friends have been.
Sometimes my prayer requests at these meetings do not sound especially “spiritual”—things like hotel contracts, travel visas, good Wi-Fi connections, and bus transportation from airports.
Yet, logistical details like these are crucial to the success of an MAI training event and, ultimately, to fulfilling our mission of extending the gospel through the written and published word.
So, thankfully, our little prayer group continues praying both for the mundane details of MAI ministry, as well as for the big-picture outcomes. Many of you reading this are just as faithful in your prayer for MAI. Thank you!
Prayer is vital to MAI ministry. We expect some form of spiritual opposition as we equip Christian communicators in hard places of the world, and we rely on prayer for the Lord’s discernment, guidance, protection and provision for everyone involved.
The Lord answers prayer in ways that amaze us. The most recent example was LittAfrica 2023 in Botswana. Scant months before the event, the many logistical challenges raised some doubt if the conference could even take place. Yet the MAI-Africa Trustees kept praying, and God stepped in to provide the needed resources, visas, speakers and venue. In fact, LittAfrica became possibly one of the most fruitful MAI trainings in recent memory.
So, yes, please keep praying for logistical details of MAI trainings, even as you pray for God to be glorified through this ministry and use it to draw men and women to His Son, Jesus Christ.
Success of MAI’s global training program will mean more and better equipped Christian publishers and writers worldwide who “declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples” (Psalm 96:3).
