Joan Campbell
As a pilgrim and story-teller, Joan Campbell seeks to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and shares her journey through blogging, devotional and fiction writing. She is the author of seven books, all containing the message of God’s grace and salvation. She particularly loves crafting poetic prayers in the tradition of the Psalms. Joan is an MAI-Africa trustee and, besides coordinating writer training across the continent, has taught at writing events in South Africa, Ghana, Singapore, Botswana and Mexico. She co-founded and facilitates the MAI Poetry group with Akolo James. Joan lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Akolo Anthony James
Akolo Anthony James is a poet, playwright, and songwriter. As a narrative strategist in development, he has written and produced over 100 episodes of radio drama focused on peacebuilding and conflict transformation. He is the author of the poetry collection Hope Not Deferred, and co-founder of the MAI Poetry Group alongside Joan Campbell. His stage work, including three plays and a musical, has premiered at the Jos International Festival of Theatre, with his play And Vice Versa debuting at the Abuja International Theatre Festival. Beyond the stage, Anthony has researched and co-directed documentaries, including 65 Years of Celebrating: Ford Foundation and the upcoming Takum: Legacy.
Aaron Lee
Aaron Lee is a Gen X cultural worker based in Singapore. His practice includes pastoring, lawyering and poetry writing. An award-winning author of three poetry collections—including Coastlands (2014)—he has also edited landmark cross-cultural anthologies, such as No Other City (2000), Love Gathers All (2002) and Lines Spark Code (2017). Lee’s work is studied in schools and universities, and he is regularly invited to literary festivals around the world. In 2014, he and his wife, the national artist Namiko Chan Takahashi, co-founded the Laniakea Culture Collective, an intercultural, interdisciplinary art practice fostering creative collaboration.
Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, PhD
Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, PhD, is a Nigerian theologian, ethicist, author, and public intellectual committed to connecting Christian faith with public transformation. He serves as Executive Director of Optima Center for Exploration and Learning, Chairman of the ECWA Board of Trustees, and Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University. A leading voice in African public theology, peacebuilding, ethics, and public policy, he has authored and edited influential books on violence, corruption, human dignity, and social renewal. He is a Langham Author of the Year and ScholarLeaders Scholar of the Year, with extensive experience in theological education, institutional leadership, and community development.
